What product do you sell has the highest level of protein and how much protein does it have? - From Ray in California
-
Many people seemed to be concerned about getting adequate protein, and we offer many products that offer good protein. These include Vega Whole Food Health Optimizer (which has a 100% RDA of most nutrients), Vega Smoothie Infusion, Hemp Protein + Fiber Powder, Hemp Protein 50% Powder, Pure Klamath Crystals, Pure Synergy Powder, Tomato Concentrate, and the top supplier of protein is Spirulina with an average of 65% protein. All of these foods, as well as, the many nuts and seeds and nut and seed butters, are great sources of the highest quality plant based protein, which are easier for your body to digest and assimilate than animal protein.
However, even though I would like to sell a ton of these products, I must say that I believe that people do not need to be concerned about getting adequate protein intake unless you are in an extreme or very intensive exercise regimen. I say this with complete conviction because the evidence is overwhelming. Protein deficiency is unheard of in the US . One only hears of protein deficiency where people are starving, like Africa , because it is only when one does not eat enough food to stay alive that one has a protein deficiency. And it doesn't matter what your diet is, whether meat eater, vegetarian, vegan, or rawfood. In fact, the opposite is true in the western countries, especially the US . Here the problem is of too much protein consumption not too little. And this is evident by the overwhelming diseases found in the US : cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. These diseases can be linked to a high protein and animal food consumption.
In conclusion, I feel that the best protein sources are from plant foods, and as long as one is eating a diverse diet one will receive adequate protein. Also, it is best to consume one protein source a day so as to not tax the body too much since protein is hard to digest.
